After 1 Year and 6 Months, at long last Ben called me Daddy! Yeeeaaaahhhh!
It sounds really funny but such a nice feeling. He definately knows who I am and the number of words he is speaking is growing very quickly. Still very little English, I guess I am not spending enough time on that right now. Plenty of time though.
I cant blame everything on my ISP provider but for the last 7 weeks I couldn’t figure out what was wrong until I relised that my ISP had changed the fixed IP address of this site without telling me! Anyway, the site is back up now so hopefully I will get back to updating things more.
Last weekend Ben and I had a lovely time on the beach. He is now saying about 20 words and clearly understands much more. He is tearing around picking up everything he can get his hands on and you need eyes in the back of your head 24/7 right now.
My little Monster is really starting to show his character now.
This year low season in Thailand is worse than low, in fact its worse then ever. Since the Red Shirt protests in May everyone has run away and the place is empty.
Ben just seems to be growing so quickly that its hard to keep up with him. He is using a spoon now, and he is Talking! Only afew words like Plaa = Fish and Nam = Water. Still waiting on the first English word but it will come I’m sure. Everyone who see’s him says what a lovely little two year old (he is only 15 months) so I guess he is doing OK.
Nothing much to report this month. He is just getting bigger and faster at everything tearing around checking everything out. Notable achievements this month. He has worked out how to turn taps on and off, how to suck with a straw, and most importantly for mummy, how to Wai, wave goodbye and how to dance!
Ben has been in Bangkok this weekend. We have been really busy with him. Dragging him everywhere he was so tired on Satuday night he just crashed out.
Never mind he was spark awake and being totaly cute for Sunday lunch at the Pub. He is going to be a little lady killer. All he wants is big hugs and kisses from pretty girls. I hate to think what is going to happen when he works out what that little weena between his legs is really for……. For those of my friends that understand me, the English expression “A chip off the old block” comes to mind.
Suddenly this week it seems like Ben has found his feet. He is charging everywhere without holding on to anything. He can climb up and down from the bed and the sofa. I can’t belive how he has suddenly changed. He is copying everything people do, and he loves to stand and dance to just about anything.
He is holding his own glass and drinking from it, although the idea of a straw still puzzles him as he hasn’t learned to suck yet. You can see him figuring stuff out in his head. Its a total joy to watch.
Well it doesn’t seem like a year ago that Ben was born. Saying that he has grown so much lately. He is very aware of his surroundings and already knows how to smile just right so he gets what he wants.
I think all the attention, the cake and all the people overwhelmed him a bit, but it was his first birthday after all.
He really wasn’t sure about the cake until he put both hands into it! Then he seemed happy!
Last weekend Ben came to stay in Bangkok. We had such a lovely time.
Friday Night we went to the Fair Ground. He loved the big wheel and all the flashing lights. They even had a small roller coaster for children which he loved.
Saturday was Aquarium Day. He was fascinated by all the things swimming behind glass. That was, until he fell fast asleep.
In the Evening we got him dressed up in his new suit. He looked so cute then out to dinner at a nice restaurant. He managed to try just about everything we ordered much to the waitresses amazement.
Sunday. A day to relax in the park. Ben managed a whole lap of the park just holding on to one hand. He is so close to walking alone now. The only thing he wasn’t sure about, was the swing. Give him time I am sure he will love it when he understand.
Cha went out the other day and bought a present for Nong Lemon but she really isnt sure about it. But as for Ben………. He absolutely loves his new car.
What is really great is that its radio controlled so we can send him across the carpark and bring him back without any worries.
He found the horn on the second day which is permanantly fixed under his left hand. That was until he discovered that by holding the wheel and turning really hard he can overide the radio control…. It only took him three days to work this out. Me thinks he is going to driving a real car as soon as he can.
I have been in Australia for the last two weeks and thought a Kangaroo would make a good present for Ben. But he didn’t think much of that, he was much more interested in my phone. Never mind you can’t win them all..
